It represents an outstanding example of Kashmiri copper craftsmanship from the late Dogra period, illustrating the harmonious union of utility and ornamental design that characterizes the region's traditional metalwork. The Pyāl-e Zaen is a traditional Kashmiri household vessel designed for storing and drying small drinking cups after washing. This example is executed in intricate jaali (openwork) featuring chinar leaves. The scalloped rim and elegantly flared body combine practical utility with refined craftsmanship, demonstrating the exceptional skill of Kashmiri metalworkers. Elevated on a pedestal base and fitted with a swing handle, its openwork construction allows air to circulate freely, helping moisture evaporate.
