Fragments in Dialogue

Two fragments separated by centuries, are arranged in a composition that transforms remembrance into an act of design. The weathered timber once formed the border of a Kashmiri almara (wall closet). At its centre rests an ancient carved rock, a remnant of an even earlier world whose original setting has long since disappeared. Neither fragment is restored to erase its past. Their scars, missing pieces and worn surfaces are allowed to remain, carrying the memory of places they once belonged. Together, they create a quiet dialogue where architecture becomes a vessel for archaeology. The frame no longer serves merely to contain, but it becomes an extension of the object itself, binding two histories into a single composition.
