Circa late 19th century Origin: Kashmir Material: Geen serpentine (Zahar Mohar) A carved Zahar Mohar chilim, comprising a bowl and stem connected by copper joinery in a compact, self-contained form. The elevated bowl holds the tobacco, while the horizontal stem allows direct inhalation. Lathe-turned contours and subtle irregularities reflect skilled handwork, while surface wear and residue bear witness to repeated use.
